SCR Online data breach affecting MITRE schools
In late August we were notified by SCR Online (a service used by schools in the UK to perform background checks) that a software contractor used by them called Intradev had suffered a data breach of its systems. This data breach has affected many schools and Multi Academy Trusts across the country and means that personal data of many thousands of people had been stolen from Intradev's system.
The personal data is linked to employees, visitors, contractors, volunteers and others and ranges from very limited information in many cases to more detailed and sensitive information that could pose an increased risk of fraudulent activity to the individual.
Since being notified of the data breach, we have contacted the large majority of those affected, but there are some people that we have not been able to notify as we do not hold their contact details on our system.
If you have any questions, or are concerned that you may have been affected, please contact us using email address dpo@mitretrust.org.uk
We will be able to confirm whether or not you have been affected by the data breach, if so, the categories of information that have been breached and let you know the advice and support that we have made available to those who have been affected.
