This wonderful original song ‘I Wish’ has been composed by Esme Taylor, a talented Year 12 songwriter at The Minster School.  Students from MITRE schools have been working hard to learn the song and a film featuring their performances is now available to purchase as a download, with the proceeds donated to Save the Children. The music video will also be shown at our first MITRE Schools’ Concert at Southwell Minster on Thursday 4th July 2024.

We are very proud of all the MITRE students who have contributed to this exciting project.

CEO, Matthew Parris, said:

“I am thrilled that through the summer term we will be bringing together pupils and students from across Minster Trust for Education to make music together.  Culminating in a concert at Southwell Minster on 4th July, pupils have been preparing and have also recorded a charity single, written by a student from The Minster School in aid of Save the Children. This is available for purchase and download and will be performed as part of the concert.

At Minster Trust for Education our mission is that “Together we help every child to flourish, opening doors to fulfilling futures.” This concert is an opportunity for all to celebrate the talents and passions of students across a group of ten diverse schools and to bring together pupils, staff and families from across Nottinghamshire.”
